Strong 33% Q2 revenue growth and 4 MTPA new grinding capacity approved for Rs 1078 cr, but profits flat on cost pressure.

JSW Cement reported Q2 FY27 consolidated revenue of Rs 1,912 crore, up 33% from last year, with profit of Rs 78 crore largely flat as higher power, freight and finance costs offset volume growth. The board also approved adding 2.0 MTPA grinding capacity each at Vijayanagar for Rs 509 crore by May 2028 and at Dolvi for Rs 569 crore by October 2028, lifting capacity by about 16% from 25.1 MTPA. It also approved a Rs 60 crore corporate guarantee for its subsidiary JSW Green Cement. The expansion will need debt plus internal accruals and will only add sales after 2028, while near-term growth comes from better use of existing plants.
