Latest announcements
Exchange filings and their impact on the company.
- SEBI nod moves associate IGX IPO a step closer, enabling potential value unlocking for IEX.
Indian Energy Exchange said its associate Indian Gas Exchange (IGX) received SEBI's observation letter on October 12, 2026 on its draft prospectus for a proposed IPO, following its July 15, 2026 intimation. This is the regulatory clearance needed for IGX to proceed with the offer. For IEX, a successful IGX listing could unlock value of its associate stake and potentially bring one-off gains if IEX sells shares in the IPO, with no impact on its core power exchange business.
- Double-digit volume growth in Q2 and H1 supports ~13% revenue and profit growth over next 12 months.
IEX traded 39.7 BU of electricity in Q2FY27, up 12.7% year-on-year, and 77.2 BU in H1FY27, up 14.2%, with September volume of 12.2 BU up 10.4%. Growth was led by Real-Time Market (16.5 BU in Q2, up 10.5%) and Term-Ahead Market (up 101.5%), while Day-Ahead was flat (+2.2%) and Green and REC volumes declined. With national power demand up 11.5% and clearing prices sharply higher, the volume momentum supports continued transaction-fee income growth for IEX.
