GeeCee Ventures won its income-tax appeal before the Mumbai ITAT for Assessment Year 2017-18. The tribunal quashed the Rs 13.40 crore addition made by disallowing dividend exemption and held the reassessment notice and order as invalid and void. The addition will now be removed after the Assessing Officer passes a consequential order, ending a dispute pending since May 2023.
